Welcome to this training programme. You have been enrolled on this training program because your employer is a Cancer United business.
This means that the business is committed to looking after its staff, especially those who have been given a cancer diagnosis. If you are lucky enough that this is not you, it’s worth remembering that there’s a one-in-two chance that it will be you at some point during your lifetime.
Furthermore, within this training, you will learn how to reduce your own chances of being diagnosed with cancer. You will also learn about how to help and support those colleagues who do receive a cancer diagnosis.
If you are a business that serves clients and customers directly, it’s also worth noting that 50% of your clients and customers will receive cancer diagnosis in their lifetime.
The training is provided online to allow you to access it at a time and in a place convenient to you.
Each page has an introductory video like this, then some content and then a chance to think about the content and use your own experience to assess what that means to you. You have a personal private learning log to capture your thoughts, which can provide a really useful resource going forward.
