In the first section of this training, we will introduce you to cancer and give you some basic knowledge to start to equip you to deal with colleagues and customers who receive a cancer diagnosis.

In this introduction, we will cover:

  • Types of cancer:
  • How cancers present:
  • The Distinction Between Benign and Malignant:
  • Understanding the Stages and Grades of cancer:
  • The Most Prevalent Types & Early Warning Signs; and
  • How to reduce your chances of contracting cancer.

 

Your learning diary

A key part of your learning in this programme is what you think about the material and how it applies to you and your situation. For this purpose, we provide a learning diary where you can store your reflections and key points that you wish to remember. We supply an empty diary for you to complete in a number of formats.

If you wish to work online

You can download a template for your learning diary on Google Docs. To open up your diary in Google Docs, click on the button below:

To use this option, you will need to be logged into a Google account. If this is a problem, or if you prefer to keep your diary offline, please follow the instructions below.

If you wish to work offline

The offline template for an offline learning diary is in .pdf format. You can use it in one of two ways:

  • Download the template, print it off and write down your thoughts in the spaces provided.
  • Download the template, open it in Microsoft Word. Although the template is supplied as a .pdf file, Word will translate it into a form that you can update on your computer.
